Learning
We are happy to host visits at our home, The Keep. We also provide hands on learning experiences for student and work experience placements, as well as online learning resources.

Schools
Mass Observation supports learning across the curriculum in areas as diverse as History, English, Art & Design, Sociology, Science and Politics.
Visits to The Keep include an introduction to Mass Observation and a chance to do hands on research using original archive materials. Sessions can be tailored to specific themes and topics.

Higher Education
Each year we support taught courses for undergraduate and post-graduate students, along with 1:1 support for doctoral students. We work with staff across a wide range of academic disciplines from Sociology and History to Media, Criminology, English, Geography, Social Work and Art & Design students.
We can support taught courses in a range of ways. This includes in person sessions, pre-recorded content, digitised images and live online presentations / discussion / Q&A.
We are happy for teaching staff to get in touch to discuss and arrange sessions. Our staff team have specialist knowledge in the collection and can provide tailored sessions based on your research interests.

Student Placements

We welcome students to join us on placement. These range from short term BA placements, to longer term MA placements. We also host placements for PhD students, or those wanting specific experience of working with archive collections.
Placements can be tailored to suit your interests and include a wide range of opportunities to work with the archive including cataloguing collections, engagement activities and research.

Work Experience
We welcome students from year 10 upwards to join MO for work experience. A week with us will give you the chance to develop skills and learn about career pathways in archives. It will provide hands on experience and an opportunity to explore the archive and ask questions.

Learning Resources
These online resources can be used to inspire learning and engagement with Mass Observation. If you would like further advice and guidance on how to use the collection, please contact us.
