What does ‘nature’ mean to you? (Online Lunchtime Talk)
Wednesday 26 June, 1pm-2pm
Mass Observation welcomes people to a 1-hour online presentation celebrating the power of individual and collective connection to the more-than-human world. The aim of the session is to bring together the work of two sustainability practitioners, whose work centres on the power of walking to heal connections to oneself, others and other beings. The presentation will highlight the importance of individual reflection in driving collective action towards urgent climate challenges.
Attendees will also be invited to an in-person ‘walkshop’ in July, designed to bring the presentation themes to life. The walkshop will experiment with design-led ideas that help build a deeper understanding of how people can be better connected to place, to strengthen connections between all beings and advocate for slower ways of living.

What does ‘nature’ mean to you? (Nature Walkshop)
Saturday, July 13 · 11am – 12pm
Mass Observation welcomes people to an in-person ‘walkshop’ – designed to help people build a deeper connection to place, to strengthen relationships between all beings, and advocate for slower ways of living.
The 1-hour walkshop will consist of a gentle walk through Stanmer Park, in which the facilitators will prompt you to think about your place from different perspectives.
The session will start and end with a group discussion, followed by an invitation to join for a light meal afterwards. We welcome attendees to bring home-made dishes to share amongst the group.
Due to the nature of the walk, we ask for no pets or children to attend. Please bring suitable clothing for the unpredictable British summer.
